PERSONAL PROTECTION FOR EMPLOYEES
All employees are required to wear a facemask or other cloth face covering that completely covers the nose and mouth at all times except when seated at a desk
PERSONAL PROTECTION FOR CLIENTS
Clients are required to bring and wear facemasks or cloth face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth while passing through the clinic. Once in the gym with the door shut children may remove masks or face covering.
ENTERING THE CLINIC
The protocol for entry is:
1. Apply Hand sanitizer for all parties
2. Complete Temperature check
4. No shoes beyond the waiting room.
Therapists will meet the parents and child in the downstairs building lobby and walk the child up and down the stairs to minimize the number of people in the clinic each day.
BATHROOMS
The clinic bathroom is cleaned by the staff after each use. Parents should use the bathrooms located in the hallway. If a child needs to use the bathroom, the therapist will take him and spray down the sink and toilet after each use.
USE OF SPACE AND SOCIAL DISTANCING
1. No parents are allowed past the hallway on the Sensational Achievements side.
3. We are not sharing any spaces with Connec-to-Talk. They also have strict protocols in place. For us, we just pass through the kitchen to get to the big gym. In hallways, people are limited to one therapist and one child per hallway in the common area/pass-throughs
4. Doors are kept closed between Sensational Achievements and Connect-To-Talk so there is no staff or other child coming into our spaces.
5. We ask that parents do not stay in the waiting room but are available promptly in the downstairs lobby 5 minutes before the end of the session time to review the session and allow for cleaning while avoiding overlap between clients in common spaces.
CLEANING & DISINFECTING
Common areas, high transit areas, and frequently touched surfaces are cleaned and disinfected with a virucide on an ongoing basis (at least daily) and more frequently if used more often. Shared objects are cleaned and disinfected after each use. Examples include:
Entrances/lobbies, Door handles/ doorknobs, Kitchen, Hallways
Shared Equipment (all gym equipment used in session).
Small materials as much as possible are designated to one child and kept in a box for that child as appropriate for treatment goals.
The ball pit is closed until further notice. Clean coverings placed on mattresses and crash mats prior to each session.
Gym floors mopped with a disinfectant in between each client.
DAILY STAFF HEALTH CHECK
All employees must confirm they have not experienced COVID-19 CDC-defined symptoms and must monitor their own symptoms. Employees should stay home if sick. No penalty for cancellations but make-ups will be offered when safe to do so.
IN THE EVENT OF A POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE
Parents shall inform the clinic of a positive COVID test in their household or date of contact with an infected person if it coincides with when your child attended an OT session. Any child who has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID 19 should not attend OT sessions for 2 weeks after the date of contact.
Sensational Achievements therapists will monitor themselves closely for any signs or symptoms for the next 14 days after notification as a precautionary measure even though no direct exposure to the therapist occurred.
If an infected child attended an OT session, any families that overlapped during that time period prior to the clinic being notified will also be notified. Equipment is always fully disinfected between each treatment session, so there is an extremely low possibility of transmission according to CDC guidelines and available educational materials. However, we do encourage monitoring for 14 days for contact tracing purposes even when no direct exposure has occurred.
If a therapist tests positive for COVID 19, the same guidelines apply, families will be notified, and sessions with that therapist will be placed on hold until the isolation period has ended and symptoms resolve. Employees shall inform their employers, and follow state testing and contact tracing protocols if exposed outside of the workplace.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations fees have been removed during these unpredictable times. However, as therapy slots are limited in the afterschool hours due to increased time required to clean the clinic between clients, Sensational Achievements reserves the right to remove any client from a high demand time slot who has a cancellation rate of 50% or higher unless the child or family member has had a positive COVID 19 test result.
SCHEDULING MAKE-UPS
If you are unable to attend sessions for a period of time due to COVID-related issues, we ask that you schedule make up sessions for continuity of care. You also have the option to receive a parent training, virtual consultation, or virtual session in lieu of the canceled session. If at any time, you would like to switch to home-based sessions due to your personal circumstances, we will do our best to accommodate but again need to consider travel times and availability.
Please contact your therapist directly to schedule make-ups. Please make every effort to make up cancellations in a timely manner.
